Following last year’s excellent trip, the Society is again organising an outing on Monday 7th July to the lovely Ripon racecourse for an exciting evening of horseracing.
Known as ‘Yorkshire’s Garden Racecourse’, it’s an absolute delight. Apart from the race-card itself – six races starting at 6.40pm and finishing at 9.10pm – there’s a bandstand with live music and plenty of options for food and refreshments. Our party thoroughly enjoyed themselves last year so why not join us for an enjoyable evening with that little bit of added excitement as you speculate on your favoured selections!!
Even if you haven’t been racing before you’ll enjoy the atmosphere and the buzz as the horses thunder past the winning post. There is no need to understand the intricacies of horses’ form – one only needs an eye for a good name or a pin to stick in the card!!
The Society is running a minibus to the event from Bradford departing at 4.00 – 4.30pm – exact pickup points and times will be confirmed once numbers and names are known – and we will arrive home at around 11.00pm. The cost will be £16 per person and includes travel and entry to the Paddock – entitling you to access the parade ring, the covered viewing area and all amenities.
