Once again, the Society is hosting one of its premier events, the St Andrews Tartan Ball on Saturday 28 November 2015 in the French Room at the Midland Hotel, Bradford. Reception drinks will be from 7.0 pm for a 7.30 pm prompt start. Dress code will be formal or highland and we would ask you to incorporate an item of tartan into your attire.
We are sure you are all aware of rising costs and so in order to hold the ticket price at £30 (again, no increase from last year), the menu this year will be a set meal. Should you have any dietary requirements please contact the Secretary or the Midland Hotel direct. A vegetarian option is available and will be the Chef’s choice of the day.
Please be aware that the French Room is located on the first floor of the hotel and can be accessed via the stairs, or the lift which is adjacent to reception. The pre-dinner reception drinks will be held in the bar of the French Room.
The meal will be followed by a dance display by members of the Leeds RSCDS and a programme of dancing for all that will be accompanied by the wonderful music of Ian Slater. There will also be the chance to win a bottle of whisky in the coin rolling competition – all proceeds to charity. The price for this fabulous evening is only £30 per head.
As is customary, we will be holding a raffle and donations of prizes will be gratefully received. Please let the Secretary know if you are able to donate a raffle prize. The proceeds will go to the President’s two chosen charities which, this year, are;
The Macular Society – who fund research & provide support to those suffering from Macular Degeneration
Take Heart – a voluntary charity that endeavours to ensure patients and their families enjoy the very best of comfort within the Yorkshire Heart Centre at what can be a very stressful time.
Invitations have been sent to members with details of the menu and a booking form. Please return this with payment to the Secretary, Sharon Booth-Howie, by 19th November. Ticket numbers are limited as we are in the French Room so please book early to avoid disappointment. Member’s guests are welcome.
